Title: Order of learning question

HI folks

I am working very slowly through making beads and have come to a point where I am looking for a technique to practise.

I can make round beads reliably to what ever size I think with dimples. I can make cones and bicones

all these are plain colour or two colour or with frit

I am working on encasing at the moment and dots and that should keep me quiet this weekend and next.

My question is what would you work on next, using your knowledge now and my very slow learning curve.

Try looking at the tutorials section, see what takes your fancy!

Yup, have a look around and try anything you think looks fun!

I started making murrini fairly early on and then twisties - you can have lots of fun with just the simplest bullseye murrini design and endless colour combinations.

I guess stringer work is probably the next usual basic to be trying - combine it with your dots and encasing and you can make very complex beads.

It depends how you work - I like trying a little of everything at once, and then other things I've been trying make some of the not-obviously-related ones come out better when I go back to them.

I made a list before Christmas trying to figure out basic stuff to work on.

Now though I am trying to improve my shaping, I only recently made a bicone (yet could make hearts)
Manipulating the glass is what I seem to find most difficult now.

Cor! You are methodical, nothing like the random, haywire approach that I took!  ;D

I'd agree, see what takes your fancy and do what you want, have you had a go at florals, or twisties?

Some good ideas, I will definitely work more with stringers I think so thank you.

Pulling a twistie could be fun, not brilliant the last one I did but I think I will have another go at them.

Just downloaded Sarah Horniks Colour tut so going to order myself some colours

OCD approach :)

funny it only kicks in with jewellery and glass and tidying my studio, nothing else.
