Title: tiles and draps
Post by: laurat on January 25, 2011, 10:40:20 AM
Hi
I am looking for a mould to make tiles, like wall tiles. I know i can cut sheet glass to size but i need them all to be the same size. I found a supplier in the states and when I emailed them the guy who replied just said that it was very expensive to ship to the uk, i am guessing he couldn't be bothered to talk to me about it!

I am also looking for a good drape mould but again I cant find a supplier!

any help woud be great.

Sorry about the poor punctuation, but I have a sleeping baby on me!

Any good for tiles? You can fill with frit or cut glass......   http://www.warm-glass.co.uk/mould-ss01-foursquare-mosaic-mould-p-1215.html

Or alternatively for small tiles with a backing piece fused onto the back of the squares?  http://www.warm-glass.co.uk/mould-ss02-100-square-mosaic-mould-p-1214.html

And for draping we have several options but maybe this?  http://www.warm-glass.co.uk/small-floral-former-p-2992.html or wehere yout hinking more of a lamp-type slumper like this? http://www.warm-glass.co.uk/mould-8354-mini-lamp-bender-p-2307.html

Hope the baby is still sleeping!

If you are after the lamp type slumper I have a couple of ones I have never used I would be willing to sell.

Thanks for the suggestions, i was looking for a mould that was more of a standard bathrom tile size.

I will have a look at the drape links, I was wanting the cocktail shaker bottom type.

How does the light fitting drape work to attach it to the light?

The lamp mould does not sound like what you are looking for. It gives a curve rather than drape. The pound shop normally has stainless steel cocktail shakers although not very tall. As for how the lamp fitting work I have no idea, I just have the moulds as they came with some other stuff.

Surely it would be simpler to cut the sheet glass to size?

I am guessing it would too, my dad is also a glass fuser and he wants the mould.

I have made some coasters as guess that it is very similar, just make sure that the base glass is opaque.

I said that he needs to post on here but he thinks that someone will hack his computer and steal all the silver if he does!
