A friend in the States sent me some Momka 'Blue Lightning' frit, I don't think she realised that I use soft glass.
I have a rod of clear ( just the one, I was going to use it for fuming, but haven't got there yet!).
Could I do anything with my frit and the clear which would be worth my time? (I have a Cricket).
Or do I shove it to the back of a cupboard and wait until I succumb to the boro bug when I'm a millionaire and have multiple oxycons and a fabulous torch? ::) ;)
You should be ok to try on a cricket, with small beads :) The only thing is that I'd suggest using a base colour as well to back up the frit. ;)
I am sure anything you do will be worth your time. The only thing that wont will be if you ignore it. How about non beady stuff?

Doh! That is a very good point. Implosions with Blue Lightning would be very nice and very easy to do for cabs and marbles - and if you've got clear and frit then a whole range of other off-mandrel adventures await.
Errrr.. not sure where I'd start doing marbles, or implosions really for that matter - but I'm going to have a good look for some tutes and videos etc on YouTube. Cabs I can manage!
Thanks for your advice ;D
Anyone got anything they've done with Blue Lightning to get my tastebuds tingling? :D
Not done anything with momaka blue lighting, but frit is lovely to use for making beads in boro. You could always make a clear bead then roll it into some frit, then try some raked around or with clear over the top - boro colours seem to do some odd things and often putting clear over the top stops them reducing and produces different effects from the same glass
;D ;D ;D Great, thank you all.
I'm definitely excited to have a play now.... thing is can i wait 'til Wednesday when the lil' pickle is at playgroup ;)
Will spend some time swotting up :D
