Honest to god, I set it up by myself in ten minutes, how easy is that?
I bought this fan

Its resting on a little stool in front of my torch with the sucky in hole facing me and the sucky out hole facing to the right.
I bought this ducting

I fed the mains lead down the back of my table to the sockets that the oxycon and kiln plug into, smooshed the ducting onto the sucky out hole and whizzed the clip onto it to hold it in place.
The ducting feeds down the gap at the back of the table and out the cat flap which is in the back door beside me, its strong enough to suck the nipples off a stripper and has more than passed the joss stick test.
No drilling, no fixing, perfect for a tight corner...........so glad I finally got this sorted and its so simple.

HOnest to god, its that strong. It still has all five metres of ducting on it and the whole lot whips around like a wild willy when its on full suction unless its jammed out the cat flap and even now I'm sure there is going to be a THWONK one day and then some plaintive meows as one of the cats is inadvertently sucked up there :o

Same set up as I have, I have mine in front of my torch and it passed a Gas Safe smoke pellet test my friend did. Brilliant bit of kit.
It's so easy to set up as well isn't it Kay? I did it by myself and had no problems

and me too, I have this set up, works perfectly I sling the pipe out the window, (which a magpie took a liking too the other day and tried to tug it away!)
I added a foot switch to my wire, just sit down and press it with my foot, it's a rocker switch for a lamp. My gas man said it had a better draw than a full sized chimney.

I have the same set up - it does make a little noise but it's not bad - and for me was no where near as annoying as my hot head!
PS - can I add that I didn't try to suck anyones nippes off - I stuck with the more trdtional test of the incense cone! :)
George it is much quieter than I anticipated, its up against my dividing wall from my neighbours and there is no way they would ever hear it, in easy terms I would say its not as noisy as a hairdryer.
Phone me up and I will turn it on for you to listen to if you like?

My daft question is how far is your end of the torch from the progrow fan? My HH is on a piece of kitchen worktop so the end of the torch is only about 50cms from the wall. Thinking my Plan B kitchen extractor fan won't stay the course, the fins catch when things get really hot, I'm thinking I might need to start saving for a progrow fan - which is plan c on my list anyway. I don't want it to be too close so it moves the flame about (if such a thing happens). I suppose the fan could fit into the hole in my wall, about 5' off the greound and the hose hang down to the flame, sort of elephant trunk style, but not sure what difference that'd make either.
The end of my torch is 14 inches away from the sucky in bit but the sucky in bit is just above the flame, so it still does the sucky in thing but should'nt get too hot. THe unit sits flush against the wall and from the back of the unit to the very front of the sucky bit is ten inches.
It doesn't affect the flame in any way. The fins in these fans are metal although they are insulated with polystyrene so don't be poking around in there with naked flames or anything..
My set-up looks like this now - sorry, a bit messy, I am planning a tidy-up tomorrow!
I added a progrow 'reducer' and clamp to make a kind of funnel. The polystyrene bit in the fan doesn't get hot even though it is fairly near the torch but I did keep checking when I first set it up. I don't really find it noisy, there is some noise but, being on a hothead, I think the torch noise is worse!

Thanks. Oh that'll be ok on my set up then. Once this fan dies (the way my day is going, I'll not try it tonight!!!!!) I'll have to spend on a progrow.
Ahhhhh.... I'd been a bit envious of you with your stripper nipples and waving willies, have been wondering why I didn't have any! Now I know - my fan is a bit further from the torch end than 14 inches. Will have to move it closer! ;D

I wondered about that, then decided it would be a bit of a giggle so long as I get to the door before they smash it down. They don't react very quickly, friends complained for months to the council that there was a funny smell coming from next door, there were never any lights on yet someone came and left each day. Then the BiB amble round at snails pace, kick the door in and find one of the biggest cannibis factories ever found in the west country. Imagine their faces if they ambled down my garden path to find me making beads in the shedio. It's nearly Christmas, you might be able to sell a few late presents?
A quick dash round my house and anyone with half a brain would realise I can't keep plants - my money tree is looking parched, the aloe vera is quite brown and the Christmas cactus is dead. Do you think they'd turn over the front garden for me if I hinted at what might be buried under? It needs doing and I can't afford Mr Muscle to do it for me; there is lots of interest, mostly (bind)weed and a bit of (couch) grass.
It's not warm enouigh in there for pidgeons to warm their tootsies on the roof.
I don't worry about the police even with the funny smells coming from next door. I am on the ground floor, they can just look through the window and see, should save the front door!
I have a progrow too, I love it. This is mine I have it going out of the air brick, saved making holes in the brick work or needing to open a window.
I also switch it on when I am soldering silver, dunno if it makes any difference ::)

No chance for pigeons to warm their tootsies on the roof, we have just had the insulation in the loft topped up (DH qualified for a grant as he is over 60).
Trouble is 25 years worth of junk from the loft is now in the garage as the insulation is too thick over the rafters to put it back.
I had a chuckle about this ;D
Police will raid only if they are totally certain, the teams who investigate growers do other checks and unless your house is 40 degrees and looks like a hot spot from the police air helicoptors/planes . Don't worry at all.

I did have a pot plant when I was at boarding school. The nuns watered it for me in the holidays. A beautifull plant, I always was honest and asked if they would water my pot plant. OK it was in a pot as well. Sadly someone pointed out to the nuns that is was a differnt pot to the one they were thinking about, and they burned it. I recall getting detention for pointing out that was exactly what I was planning on doing with it too. It grew very well in a cool dormitory.

I have even gone for delivery before noon just so I have it
my god what quick service I paid to arrive next day before 12pm and it came 9.30 this morning. I only bought it in the afternoon the day before.
I am stuck now though which hole is what . i.e which parts sucks the nipples off strippers and which part do i put the hose on to put out of the window. I know only 2 holes but people seem to have it in different ways. is it the big side with the hole the nipple stripper, then the thin side for the hose ????
Do not want to ask hubby as he does not know I have it yet :o And as he was in when it came you do not want to know where I hide it so he could not see ::)
The bit where you can see the fan is the extractor part and the other is the one that takes the bad stuff out!

As I do not have room on my bench for this, is there any way of attaching it to the wall. I have an air brick just above my head in the side wall to vent it out.
Really need to get some ventilation in my shed and some heating.

It came with screws and has a thing on the back that you can attach to the wall . if that helps ;D

I'm tired after the company doo yesterday and the department doo today. I am just off the sofa and thinking about dinner, the food today was dia.
So like Tan said it was easy to set up and my god it does suck a nipple off a stripper !!
I asked the hubby to stand in front whilst I turned it on , naked of course , ;) but he declined my offer ;D I have no idea why ::)
So if you are unsure whether to get one or not I highly recommend it.
I've got the KSA 150-2E 730m3/hr as my studio set up is in our part converted double garage (a lot of air to shift!!!)
Used it properly for the first time today & it was great.
As others have said, really easy to set up & Progrow are great to deal with & answered all of the many questions that I had ;D
Ordered mine Thursday lunchtime and it was delivered yesterday; now that's what I call service. I can see why Tan says it sucks the nipples off strippers - it sucks all the heat from my shedio as well, but probably means that, for the first time, I've not been in a warm bath of noxious gases.
If you are thinking of screwing it to the wall, the only wall bracket fits the narrow side (not the wide back). You'll then have the width sticking out into the room.
Thanks to Steve at Progrow, who answered my endless silly questions. Just hope I don't fry this like the cooker hood and extractor fan - although I've used for 3 hours today and (I waited until it had stopped and switched off at the mains) the fan and inside is not hot. It took me a couple of hours to fix up, but I was fixing to a hole in the wall where the extractor fan once was and am pretty cack-handed when it comes to attaching things together. I'm glad I didn't buy a bigger fan though, else I think it was sucked the torch off the table.
Woohooo...a bit after the event...but I've just ordered mine and it maybe with me tomorrow or wednesday!!!....thanks for all the great info on this one!!....have been looking on and off for sooo long now.....glad the search is over... ;D

If I left mine on all night I'd be greeted by the not-so-familiar noise of neighbours banging on my front door begging for quiet. I think they are designed to be left on for hours at a time but you'd not use mine if you didn't want to draw attention to whatever you were cultivating in the spare room. Perhaps mine is noisier because I have a reducing as a funnel on the front?
Highly recommended...my set up arrived yesterday..the day after I ordered it!...just gotta set it up now.. ;)
