Ok, so I understand the problems of coloured boro in the UK - small market for it etc etc.... BUT... why is it that the biggest clear boro Simex rod I can buy 'off the shelf' in the UK is 10mm. I don't want to buy an entire case of 12 or 14mm clear even though I know that its not too expensive to do that, yes, I've explored that path, but storing a case is a problem in a normal size flat. I know that clear Simex can be bought from wholesale glass suppliers in the UK, so there are no import/overseas shipping problems. What I would like is to be able to do is buy 2 -3 kilos of 12 - 14mm clear off the shelf, so that I can go back in a couple of months and buy again. I realise that buying this way carries a premium, after all, stockists have to purchase and store and make a profit.... but hey, a couple of cases of clear.. not that much storage for a glass supplier. Also people are getting bigger and better torches, which they are using for boro - which means they can melt bigger tubing and rods :)
I guess Im aiming this at Sean and Martin.. the boro market in the UK is growing - any chance of a bit of 'boro expansion' ? ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Fi, Sean used to have 12mm rods - has he run out?? Always worth an ask, I´d think.
12mm basck in stock, now also 18mm - will get it on site tomorrow, need to go to edinburgh to set up a show now...
ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh 18mm........ ;D ;D
Might just have to put an order in for some of that!!
