.....is it meant to do anything other than boil, fizz, and generally make my life a misery? ???
Never even heard of it sorry missus :-\
ahhh you have found the joys of green Pulsar, did that for me too.
Found this advice on LE:
"try using a slightly reduction flame from the start with Kandinsky Green Exotic, you will get some terracotta brick color with various blues" - doesnt mention anything about boiling and pitting though.
oh and then this: " The copper will burn off easily so make sure you reduce and pull your bead straight out of the flame".
Wonder if its the copper burning off that you are seeing?
Tan, it's a Precision 104 one....it literally is nothing but a prime example of a witch cauldron the moment it even comes in the vicinity of a flame. I tried just 'burning through' it in the hope it'll do something magical in the kiln.....and ended up with very expensive black beads. I think I only have two rods of it.....might just have to bury it in the bottom of the cupboard :)
Sounds about right, I could do nothing with it.
Thanks Sabine.....precision 104 not a glass maker that we hear much about......this glass sounds a blighter
I remember it well... spit, hiss, splutter no matter what the flame >:(
Ours has definetly been buried ;D
Not just me then ;D Feel better now ;D ;D ;D
I seem to remember that that was one Precision that I 'gifted' to Emma ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
hmmm....."gift".......... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
No wonder I use boro then! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

No, I think that's what it's supposed to do from my limited time trying it! :D :D I ended up splatting it onto some beads and left it raised before it got too nasty, then gave it a bit of reduction.
Cool, now I know........next time anybody needs a put-me-down, get yourself some of this glass ;D ;D ;D
