Title: oooooooh look !!
Post by: fionaess on October 05, 2010, 03:05:49 PM
Mike told me about this yesterday, it was in the local (4 doors down) charity shop.. He said that he thought I might like it as it looked 'interesting'.
So on my way to post some parcels, I poked my head in the door.. and bought it.. its about 8" tall and all handmade boro  ;D

No Glen, its encased tubing....
and I wonder who made it as well... I did consider telling everyone that I made it but couldn't deal with the humiliation of being laughed at  ;D ;D ;D

Actually the bowl at the top looks like a Gozo glass piece.

I have two pieces of Gozo glass. We visited the island when we went to the wedding of a friend in Malta. I've also got some very poor pictures of the glassblowers at work. It was about 40 years ago and the pictures were taken with a Kodak Instamatic I got as a present for my 21st birthday. The plane was chartered and was full of wedding guests plus the bride and groom. We also had the wedding dress and bridesmaids dresses in the cabin with us. It makes for problems when the bride and groom have friends in England and family in Malta.
