Well I'm considering buying a Bavarian heart press as a post exam treat but I batch anneal and need to know whether my beads will survive...
... So can anyone shed some light on this/advise how to stop the beads cracking?
Or would anyone be willing to lend me a Bavarian 3d m heart press any time from last week in august to mid sept?
I rarely get cracked beads and I batch anneal everything. I use Manda's Annealing Bubbles which are fantastic, and can even get away with relatively large lentils.

Helen, I've found that 28mm lentils crack with annealing bubbles which is a bit annoying, I've only had 1 that hasn't cracked on me yet, but maybe I let them get too cool!
I don't make really big lentils, I think 22mm is the biggest I've done.

I have the Bavarian puffy heart press have made about 20 hearts all cooled in Mandas annealing bubbles, not had any crack. This is the one I have.

I think it's worth a try, I would recommend the annealing bubbles if you don't already have them ;D

i do have annealing bubbles but to be honest, i don't think they're that great for larger beads over 25mm. Bar one i've had every single bead over that size crack in annealing bubbles, but hardly any in the blanket. maybe i'm doing something wrong.

oooo well that is exciting to know! I just managed to snap up the UCBY cindy heart press from rachel so may have to wait a bit for the bavarian one ( or borrow one ;) )

Lol I think everyone is itching to get there hands on it! But yeah I'd be up for that.
I think my problem is I always take em off the mandrake. Maybe I should try and work out how to use te mandrel rack for my sc2!!
