Title: DH Ekho
Post by: SilverGems89 on June 22, 2010, 08:20:51 PM
I've been playing with a few DH glasses just recently and been getting results im happy with so today i thought oooooh i'll have a go with Ekho...wish i hadnt now!
I made a base bead of an effetre purple transparent, encased it thinly with ekho, heated it, let it cool, reduced and then encased with 006 clear, the result, greeny baby poop with one hint of purple  :(
So do any of you talented lot have any tips and tricks?

p.s im on a hot head

Ekho is a bit funny - it's kind of a mix between a striker and a reducer so it like to be cooled and then only reduced slightly. If you get your 006 gloopy hot it should also help to strike the colour in the Ekho too.

i think you might be on to something there kaz, i really need to get some different clear, i foolishly bought a LOT of the 8-10mm thick 006 when i first set up and melting it is a pain in the bum so probably wasnt hot enough to strike it  ::)

Have a play with it on it's own to get a feel for how it works - either small spacers of just ekho or over clear if you want the beads a bit bigger.
