The colour of the month is back and I am pleased to announce that the colour of the month challenge will be jointly sponsored by Off-Mandrel (thank you Sean and Gillian!) and Frit Happens. Each month the lucky winner, chosen by a random number selector, will receive a £20 gift voucher to spend on-line with Off-Mandrel. There will also be a runner up prize this month of a pack of murrini from yours truly that includes the colour of the month. The draw will take place on 31st May so make sure you get your entries in to be in with a chance to win the goodies!
So, the colour of the month for May is Effetre 212 Lime Green - hopefully everyone should have some of that or if not, will be able to get some!!!
Good luck!

I'm afraid I made this 2 years ago so I guess it doesn't count but I don't think I've ever made so many lime green beads since!!!! I hope this is the right colour :D :D

I made these last weekend and then spent a bit of the week making the chain. Yet to learn how to use the camera to make them look any good ::)

(I would love to show it all as one finished piece but cluts here dropped it tuesday morning so I am going to try and fix it over the weekend) Sorry for the hoggy pictures but the beads are so small and I so naff at taking photos.
Green, I love green!
After reading the stringer control tutorials, I had a go at doing rings. It's trickier than I expected on a small bead! I also learned that dark yellow is not a good colour to choose in terms of contrast :P
And that if you're using a green that gets a line round the middle anyway, you should either not put a central ring on, or make sure you cover it up entirely...

This one has a base of transparent sage green, then lines of lime green, opaque sage green, and one of the red browns I had as a stringer.

Here's a silly one from me. My son finds it easier to let me make beads for a day if I make something for him, hence this dinosaur!!

the plan is to make some white and green spotty beads to go with it, but with the weather promising to be hot I don't think I'll get to them this weekend
Woohoo! Made these earlier this week... I can include them yesh?!! ;D

Well here's my offering - it def says 212 on the rod be it pea or lime.
Was rushing them a bit in case my oxy cut out again!!
I am having the same problem my lime green which is the same as my pea green so I really don't no
which it is, so I made a very ugly face bead with Lime green I hope
of course it had to crack
(http://i728.photobucket.com/albums/ww290/margaretphotos/braceletswaps003-2.jpg)
and some lime green transparent which is a lovely colour but next batch of lime green trans is not so nice
or maybe not lime green at all
(http://i728.photobucket.com/albums/ww290/margaretphotos/fungi007.jpg)
My offerings: (http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/hh266/emkay9/DSC02122.jpg) (http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/hh266/emkay9/DSC02111.jpg)I'll learn how to photograph better one day :-\...

This is the biggest bead I have so far made. Giggles in lime and, my new love, transparent Kelp
34 mm by 29 mm by 18 mm thick at the widest part.
(http://lh3.ggpht.com/_UGYzrfuLAuQ/S_veM92AXZI/AAAAAAAABi0/rrvX3iA4u6Q/s400/DSCF6571.JPG) (http://lh3.ggpht.com/_UGYzrfuLAuQ/S_vXYQ5Oy-I/AAAAAAAABig/AY-Yz8aACrc/s400/DSCF6567.JPG)
Purple hearts. I enjoyed making these.
I don't know if this will be allowed as an entry or not, but My 10 year old son, Max, made this bead today. He really wanted me to put it in this thread so he used the lime glass. I was very impressed by the colours he chose to go with it too, cim pulsar and creamsicle . He seems to have an eye for colour. I have made a note of them to use myself at a later date!
(http://lh4.ggpht.com/_UGYzrfuLAuQ/S_1Z9WQZi6I/AAAAAAAABj4/c6HYO_QGJQ8/s400/DSCF6589.JPG) (http://lh6.ggpht.com/_UGYzrfuLAuQ/S_1Z_HogI2I/AAAAAAAABj8/bPj2j06vvAI/s400/DSCF6590.JPG)
The shape is.. er.. unusual, but he has got nice puckers!
Hmm, lime green. Not a favourite colour of mine
