Title: What size screws
Post by: poledra1958 on April 02, 2010, 10:51:23 AM
I am hoping over Easter to get things ready for my HH set up.  What size screws do I need to get ready for the bench clamp ?

I am getting the bulk one.

Would it not depend on what size drill bit you were going to use and the depth of bench you were drilling into?

Was more thinking about what size the hole in the bench clamp is :-)  no point getting a) screws that were to small and not hold or to big and then would not go through the hole.

I will get a selection.

Unfortunately my OH does not do DIY so all drilling etc is left to me :-)

Sorry - no idea about the hole size in bench clamp - best ask Martin!

You'd better start training OH - once HH is lit, no time for housework, cooking, DIY etc! ;D ;D ;D

Already trained for the housework  ;D ;D ;D

But I would not let him lose with any power tools

He does do a good pasta bake, but that is about it.  But I love cooking so not so worried about that.

LOL - I still find it gets in the way when I'm "in the zone!"

The screws I used for my bench bracket were 4mm and they worked fine. (Mine's screwed to bits of wood which are clamped to the table).

I'm on the kitchen table, so use 2 heavy bricks to weigh it down,  :) :) - at least I can lift it all off every few weeks when he decides that we 'really should' eat at the table now and then.......
