I have just tried to etch a few beadies, dosnt seem right altough i done it for longer than it says on the tub  :-\ or maybe its just me..... and im also scared to touch with my hands lol am i being daft?

For goodness sake please don't touch it with your hands AT ALL - it is a dangerous acid.
You need to wear rubber gloves and ideally safety glasses and mask when using it and you then need to neutralise the beads in a sodium bicarbonate solution before washing them in water.
PLEASE BE CAREFUL WITH THIS STUFF!!!
