Title: Sterling Silver Grommets
Post by: Loobie on February 13, 2010, 08:11:10 PM
Hi

I have just been looking @ palmer metals website & seen that they do grommets you can stick to your beads, has anyone used them, if so are they easy to do or is it messy? Would hate to mess up the bead with glue!!

I have used 2 part epoxy and used a cocktail stick to apply the glue.

I use them! I have an odd size of mandrel (4.7mm), so once its reamed out I can get a really tight fit- then no glue required! For smaller sizes where I can't find the right size mandrel I used E6000 glue- whichi s like an industrial strength car adhesive (smells awful).

PS: If you want an odd mandrel I do have some going spare- bought new oens then promptly found all the old ones again, £2.00 but i only have 2 left.

Hi

Thanks for the replies, they've been a great help, just one other thing where do you buy yours from, do you get them from palmer metals.

I have bought theirs but I prefer allbeads4you ones which are a bit chunkier. :)
