Title: Copper
Post by: Sarah999 on November 09, 2009, 06:36:46 PM
I have some copper sheet which is 0.45mm thick. How can I cut heart shapedout of this? Is there some sort of stamper tool I can use? I am a bit confused! I dont think those art stampers you get from hobbycraft will be strong enough.

If its the copper sheet you get from warm glass, Sarah, you *can* use papercraft stamps

And if you find you need to sharpen your punch, just punch through a sheet of aluminium baking foil a few times  ;D

0.45mm is way too thick for a punch. It's hard work getting a disc cutter through it (and that's using a big hammer!). You'll need to use a piercing saw for that gauge.

Oh :( That is so disappointing. I think I might have to buy some more thinner copper then. Any clues where to buy from? I just want to stamp some copper hearts to fuse into my work.
