Not a tutorial but I bought "passing the Flame" yesterday and can't put it down.
I followed the link to the tutotrial which looks great but can you tell me what glass is used as I hate getting a tutorial and finding out the glass used is not great with my hothead.

The one I like the best so far out of the ones I bought is Anouks Making Silver Glass Sing. It really helped me to get to grips with working with the silver glasses.

Sarah Hornik has 2 good tutorials: Think pink (about rubino oro) and 11 things to do with goldstone. Gorgeous pictures, several different ideas in each and she makes her beads on a Hothead!
I also have Anouk's Silver Glass one and Amy Kinschs Storm beads one: some fabulous effects that are quite straightforward to do, but they both need you to be able to adjust the flame to reducing & back to normal again, so possibly a bit tricky with a Hothead.
i bought that one about a fotrnight ago julie...love the beads....... and can i get it to work !!!...and then you posted in show and tell ...you can go off people you know ;)
but i have made the most fantastic champagne marble bead though (another good tut ) ...two skills mastered only took a week !!.... and i managed to make a heart with a tut by someone called lush ???
i think some of the freebies on here are fab
back to trying to make star bursts ...i will get it ...honest !

Nikki - could you let me know please how you get on with this tutorial on your HotHead please. I've not bought a tutorial yet but saw these beads a couple of weeks ago and read her words on EDP and thought the beads looked amazing. In her chat she said that she'd managed to get the look of the silver glasses without spending that amount of money. But she also suggested a way of fuming dark ivory with EDP which I've tried on my HotHead and not managed to do. I seem to be quite rubbish at doing anything too fancy on my HotHead so am reluctant to shell out on a tutorial that will end up looking like a normal bead when I try it.
Good luck anyway and I hope you manage to make some fab beads with your new tutorial.

I've only bought one tutorial so far, but then I'm still a beginner. I bought Amy's Storm tutorial after seeing the beads on here. OMG its amazing. I have a hothead and was a bit worried about reducing on it, but a few wraps of tinfoil and my oven glove seemed to do the trick to get a reducing flame.
Very nice tutorial. I went to buy making silver glass sing but it says out of stock??? how can that be right for a download?
does anyone know of a tutorial to make a jelly fish inside a bead/marble, not the seascape one.

That jellyfish looks a bit like the one in Mary Lockwood's tutorial - you do it roughly the same way as making mushrooms in clear glass.

Do you know what? I've never bought one.. I have a look but I get all tight fisted and would rather just buy glass. I bought the stringer control video a while back and found it said nothing new at all from what I've already gleaned from books and you tube etc, and I don't think it has helped me at all.
I would like to buy a tut on how to get purple from silver glass, if you know of one that really works, I'd love to know!

I have many (too many?) of the tutorials mentioned in here ::) I don't always make them either, BUT...in all of them I do find little snippets of information hich I find invaluable!! There are too many to mention names/titles, but I do like buying tutorials....I suppose I have the same relationship with them as some people have with buying shoes..... it's a long time since I bought shoes, or clothes, or make-up.....think I need to ask for a nice smelly bottle from DH for xmas, I have run out of the good smell as well.. ;D
Can i ask what LE is? Sorry i have no idea where to start looking for this...

Shoes, clothes, make-up - not really necessary for visiting the shed! But a bottle of smelly is essential - to cover up the sheddy feral stink! I think I am turning into a ferret or something!

:) Just popped by to verify, My Husband Daniel & I used to be "SFD" but this year we opened a retail store for our beads and changed our brand name to the same as the shop "Beads & Botanicals". We have much less time for a large online presence, but still have a couple venues open (Etsy & ArtFire) and are always coming up with fun new ($5 US) e-Book tutorials. Oh interested! Is Jupiter a DH color also? Please let me know if it does anything magical- I have been slowly (very slowly) working my way through their glasses. So far have love for kronos, pandora, and electra (tried nyx without luck).
No, not DH. I think it may be TAG, not sure! Its kinda green like Pandora and I think I remember being told its kiln-striking but I've not had any luck with it. I'll give it a go!

Not had much luck with this one!!, probably me not the tut. One thing I wish I had know before I bought it is that you need to be "competent with your lentil press", I'm not so that may be the problem.

Jupiter is by TAG.
"TAG EXP Jupiter. An experimental striking colour, Jupiter needs a lot of heat, and a long cool, before reheating briefly to strike. Overstriking will result in a return to the rod colour, but don't worry, you can go through several cycles before it burns out!"

I love tutorials and have a few which are bought ones. I really like Frogsong Starburst & nebula, Taking reduction glass by storm and making chaos. My latest purchase was teresas toad bead tut. Cant wait to have the confidence to have a go.
Looking at the ones on etsy, they all look interesting. Has anyone bought a lesser know bead artists tut and liked it? There are a few for £5 how are these?
is there a tutorial on how to make nice silver glass shards? or just how to make shards?...im a newbie :D
