how rude :D :D :D :D
That is lovely Sean!
I'd be chuffed to!
Never mind the size, look at the quality ;D
Thats excellent, well done, do you sell your stuff?
Super - it looks like a time tunnel!

it's not as big as it looks, it's just really, really close.
About 5"-ish?
Boro, made in 3 sections, two cobalt squiggle-balls (wig-wag re-ball, if you're 'merkin (I think)), one either side of a feather-raked caramelo section (that you can't see in the photy).
I'm chuffed 'cos I'm teaching this stuff to myself, using badly filmed youtube vids, US pipemaking forums, guesswork and swearing. Nobody teaches this in the UK, at least I've not found anyone, so if you know someone, please let me know!
@LesleyMac
I can't sell this stuff yet as it's not up to snuff, but I'll be doing baubles like this for Crimbo.
Eventually, I hope to be good enough to make saleable vessels, goblets an' that, but it's a steep learning curve.
Thanks for the kind comments,
Sean
It's really lovely!!You'll get loads of orders!! :)
AH boro! The hards stuff! Now you're talking! ;) Is the silver bits caramelo? I didn't know you could get it to do that!
Cor, that is lovely Sean ;D
Part of it's beauty is that it's not a regular form but looks more organic. I think you should think again about selling. My mother and I bought some so called seconds many years (about 35 years in fact) ago from a glass studio in Malta and I still have them on display, they look so good. Barleylands Glass Studio is about 10 miles from me and you may be interested in this short video,

I don't know whether they do any teaching and it's a bit far for you to come to Essex. They do the Ashes into Glass Memorials too.
It's a fab piece and looks good enough to sell to me. It's a handcrafted item!

That's lovely, don't play it down - I'd be so proud! :)
well done Sean ;D i love the wiggley blue bits great effect
That's incredible! Is there no end to your talent?!! And all the more impressive that you're teaching yourself the techniques. Fantastic piece! :)
Barleyland Glassworks, travel the country demonstrating at Country Craft Fairs. They usually attend Sandringham House and I think they were at Burghley House, Stamford . I have bought quite a few of their pieces of glass, they make lovely perfume bottles. It's beautiful glass!

It really is a thing of great beauty :D

They also have a resident lampworker that blows as well if, memory works I think he was called Bruce.
They teach and they are a really great and helpfull bunch they gave me loads of advise regarding the casting work I am doing.

Jeremy Bolton might know or how about sticking notice up on wall next week at Beardmore? Seen that work before Sean.
