Title: So...what size madrels should `I buy
Post by: jammie on August 01, 2009, 11:28:21 AM
I have to buy mandrels, can anyone tell me what size to buy, they are different thickness and different lenghts so I'm unsure what size to get to start with, can I just buy one pack of one size as I've not  got cash to spend on getting a variety
Oh, and is a fire extinguisher better than a fire blanket :)  My work directions advisor went a bit pale when I told him all I needed now was some mandrels a tin of gas and a fire extinguisher  :)

thanks Jean

To start with, I'd buy the thicker ones, as they won't bend so easily when trying to get off a stuck bead.

The 2.4mm wide ones. I have a mix of long and short, and I don't really find there's much of a difference in using either, whereas with the thinner ones I like them to be longer.
