Title: Does anybody have a Uhlig or Cromartie Kiln?
Post by: Lush! on May 10, 2009, 08:17:07 PM
I have a chap coming for a lesson this week and he mentioned that he's looking for help with annealing - he has both a Uhlig enamelling kiln and a top-loading Cromartie kiln.

Just thought I'd ask if anybody has any experience of batch annealing in either of these so I can sound like I know what I'm talking about  give him some advice ;D ;D

I did'nt have a posh controller.... just a power input dial and a soak timer..... I just set the power input to 1.5 and set it to turn off as soon as it hit temperature. As it's brick lined, it needs no soak time as such, or a ramp down... it cools slowly enough once it's switched off.

HTH ?
:O)
