Post by: LALA on April 30, 2009, 11:51:39 AM
Hi I have just bought some new Rechinbach glass and have been playing around with reducing and I wondered which are the best colours??  Irish orange gets some good effects I wondered if anyone else has any favourites??

I have Iris orange and I get nada from it, just khaki poop  ;D
I hear iris gold is useful....but I'm on a HH so I guess I won't be trying it any time soon  :(

Veebee, you will find iris orange (raku) difficult on a HH, it's not hot enough. But the good news is that you can get great results from iris gold on your torch, and iris blue!

Lala, I love any of the iris ones!

Any advice on Iris Blue please Mary? I have a batch but have just left it in the drawer. How do you get the best results out of it? (I'm on a Lynx with 2 oxys)

Lightly reduce it Kaz, for metallic surface effects, like gunmetal. Iris gold is good for that too, as  well as for the faux boro stuff. Though I've only used the 96, do they make those in 104 now?

ETA Found some old pics! The blue ones are iris blue stringer, the red one has iris gold stringer.
