I bought 1/4 kilo of opal rose as a bit of a lucky dip as there was no picture to go with it when i was buying lots of things... hehe
I recieved it this morning, and its the most gorgeous translucent white colour... gorgeous!!!! So I tryed making a bead out of it to add to my "reference beads" and it came out quite merky and brown.... whats the deal... did I burn it or is it one of those colours that change colour after baking ? ???

I love this glass, it should strike to a delicate pink. Not sure why yours has gone brown. Are you on a hot head?
Yeah I am. I have read lots up about striking... but I can't seem to do it.... I melt the glass into what ever shape needed... then let it cool until it stops glowing then do the same as I do to reduce glass but in the very top of the flame... doesn't seem to work. any clues???

Oh, I am a big fan of pink.
Do you have a picture as to what opal rose should look like? It sounds lovely, well Black Heart Beads description does, Vicki's merky brown doesn't sound quite so appealing.
I hope you get an answer to your dilemma.
No I haven't used it since... don't want to waste it whilst I'm still not 100% that I'm using it right!
Hopefully one day i will figger it out.... :-\
