I used building supplies r us, ordered online and delivered quick! You'll have to check they're still about, but I did go and price up in Homebase and b and q etc first before choosing them.

Here's a link, I used hardboard which is under 'sheet', it needed screwing to all the joists, did think about ply but that cost more! :)

Our insulation came with the shed - its that nasty fibreglass stuff then plywood sheeting. I made Simon & his mate wear masks when they installed it. I hummed and haa-ed about the flooring but stuck with the ply flooring the shed came with. I think ceramic tiles is the best option but my floor isn't particularly flat so I gave that a miss.

I'd recommend doing the wiring after you've insulated it so that all your wires are accessible. It would be a real pain to have to remove the insulation to access them.

Ooh yes, I bought laminate for the floor, there's one small scorch mark so far, but that was when a mandrel fell out of the kiln and I couldn't find it!

Oh all of you with your posh sheds. How are the spiders to get in and out if you line everything???

;D

I am SO gonna line and insulate my next shed - would be too chaotic to try and do it now I think. But I will miss my girls...

I have shiplap on the outside, value cladding on the inside & inbetween there is a mixture of tarpaulin, bubble wrap & foamy packing stuff....it seems to work ok, even in the summer when the shiplap shrinks  :)

I have plastic sheeting next to the shed wall then polystyrene, then hardboard on the top, the floor has a layer like the walls too topped off with laminate flooring. It is as warm as toast in the winter, and relatively spider free so far......  only spotted one a few months ago as it hurled itself on me as I was torching...... what is that about?  I reckon his mates on the outside put him up to it.......

:oI would have chucked my glass and everything I think - If a spider jumped on me !

I dont understand the fear of spiders - its really silly - but still I just can't get my head round it...

I found Jablite 1200mm x 450mm 1" thick polystyrene insulation is £1.68 per piece at B&Q  I think 20 sheets?

Do I need to do the ply thing as well?

Hi there, I have been thinking about this one too.  I have a tin shed 6ft x 7ft and in the winter its goona be freezing!

Had a look in wickes and they have an insulating material which looks good. Its front a back lined with foil type stuff and a sort of high density foam in the middle. You can get it in 25mm or 50mm.

I think I will get that stuff and simply tile around my work bench up to about 3 foot high and leave the rest bare.

As for the floor it will be raised off the concrete and have a simple marine ply floor then cheap as chips ceramic tiles on top.

Going to have a didy wood burner in thar too. Can't wait!

That sounds toatsy Denise ;)!  You will be nice and warm in there..

You know - after starting this thread and finding out I will be having about 3 weeks off sick for Op in June - we decided to get finances in order and not to spend more just yet...  We will see how things are September time before we decide to insulate..

It seems so complicated to do a propper job - Iv read forum about it and there is condensation - and all sorts to take into account...  Thinking I may need to purchase a dehumidifier...?  Anyone else?

My OH bought me for a Christmas Present!!!!!!! a plug i wall heater- its a ceramic type tube and gets really hot so this is near where I sit, its low energy but is just enough to keep the damp out in the winter.
I also plug in a convector heater on low for when its frosty/freezing. Now the weather is slightly better there is no need to heat as I have polystyrene lines walls and kingspan (foil backed foam under the tiled floor and lining the roof. All this is covered with MDF boards. (excuse spellings please)
