Finally having a go with some CIM Lapis that I've had for ages. It seems to lose it's shine when I am working on it - am I doing something wrong?

Erm, you're probably reducing it a bit. Turn your oxy up ... if you can!
Ahh Julie, I am on a hothead, so can't help that at the mo - but will shortly have my new torch and oxycon, so will take that note on board.
