Title: Oxygen concentrator location
Post by: Dee Dee on January 24, 2009, 09:31:42 AM
I have my new torch and an oxycon, but just waiting for the hoses/regulator etc. to arrive before I can set it all up.

I was wondering where everyone else puts their oxycon?

I will be working in a small utility room where space is fairly limited, is there any reason why it cannot go under the bench I am working at providing the vent isn't obstructed?

The wall is pretty much where the iron ends, but I have removed the appliances from under the bench and have moved my torch to where the kiln is in the piccie.  I have a new fan that goes on the wall, and am looking at putting a cooker hood over the area.

The guy I am buying the hoses etc. from says I need 5m hoses (which I have ordered), but when I use my hothead, my propane is situated under the bench just past my knees.

Your thoughts would be appreciated!!!  Thnks.

Crikey Dee - that's a fab space to working in, makes my utility room look like a tip....  must go and tidy it up.....

I'm not sure if there are rules about oxycons and ventilation space around them, if there are then perhaps I am about to learn something.

Mine is under my workbench about a 10 inches away from the wall, it doesn't have anything next to it though, well, not within about 3 feet of it anyway.

I have mine under my desk, but it always runs on amber.  I remember someone saying a while back that they put thiers by the door & the difference was amazing  :D

Min is stuck in the middle of the floor and I just wheel it out of the way when not using it.

Mines under the work bench where I sit it's  on the right  side. Not sure if that#s a good place to put it!  ::)

Thanks for your replies, I guess I shall try it under the worktop and see how it goes....I suppose I can keep wheeling it out if I have to!  I will keep an eye out for the amber light and see what difference it makes if I move it around.

Chomping at the bit to have a go on my new torch.....hurry up hoses!
