I've been asked to make a ring for someone...and I have'nt a clue how to go about it?? does anyone have any tips or ideas as to how to make a nice ring?? I don't really want to make it using a ring mandrel as that will govern the sizing somewhat, I do have a few metal ring mounts, and one that I guess I could make round beads on and wire onto it....any other suggestions??

Have you got the current issue of Beads and Beyond? There's a wire wrap ring step by step design in there you could use to mount a bead on.
Would something like this work Janey?

I can happily write you a quick tute if you like
They are BOOTIFUL, please do a tute George!! ::)
*Jumping up and down* Yes!! Like that!! George, yours are GORGEOUS!! Would you do a tute? I'd love to be able to do one (or can I commission you in exchange for beadies?)
Those are lovely George
Are those adjustable??

Are those adjustable??
Sadly not very adjustable (there's a bit of 'give' but that's it). I end up making a range of sizes - but they take literally a couple of minutes so can be done on the spot if needed.
Those rings are beautiful!!
You could make a pure silver ring from art clay silver :)
They are lovely. I do some similiar but not as nice as your I'm afraid!
they are gorgeous George ;D I hate seeing rings on here, because I love them & can't wear them :'(
George those are really impressive! But what is even more impressive is that you can make one on the spot!
Those are gorgeous!!! I'd LOVE you to write me a TUT if you don't mind! I will also get the Beads and Beyond issue mentioned here. Once again thanks for all your great help.

Oh G they are bloomin utterly fantabulous.............. :D :D :D :D
You're way too clever ;D
Bloody Hell George they are simply :o wow
George you truly are the Queen of wire missus ;D They are stunning
George, they are LOVELY - will you post a tute here? I feel like a total numbnut when it comes to wireworking, but it would be so cool to be able to make something like that!! ;D
Those are stunning George!
Roy :)
George-they are so gorgeous! :o
blushing now (thanks chaps!). I'll write it up and take a few pics. :)
Thanks, George, that is SO generous of you!! :-* ;D
Flippin' gorgeous!
Can I sign up to the "Beautiful Ring" tute too?
I love them George, what a fab design. I'd love to have a go if you write a tute - it's really lovely of you to share your ideas.
Thanks
Clairex
Thank you for sharing George.....both the gorgeous pics and to write a tut! I'm not sure I'll give them a go myself (I really don't do neat wirework!), but I could throw down a gauntlet challenge for the Flame Off to 'do one in 2 mins'? ;D And if it's true, I'll hide my only attempt (which took 45 mins and still looked like the cat had mangled it) at the bottom of the beck (where it can join forces with Emma's cat litter bead, may they live happily together ever after!)
I hate to think of Emma's bead in the beck - I might have to go in and get it!
Hope you don't mind if I leave your ring though, Sabine, cat manglings aren't my thing. ;D
I think we should open a book on this - bet George can do it in 2 minutes!
LOL
I wouldn't take any bets - I reckon it takes three if the ends are going to be neat!
I've done the horrid tax return chores today, so I'll take a couple of pics for a step by step in the morning.
**setting alarm** :D xx
