Title: Something unexpected with Triton
Post by: sublimekate on January 14, 2009, 10:16:18 PM
I haven't got a pic to share yet but I thought I'd share this little nugget.

I made a bead ages ago using, amongst other things, triton for surface decoration. It went on my site and bombed, I took it off and it's been lying around since.

Anyway I had the urge to etch stuff today, so popped it in, I thought oh well I'm going to loose the triton effect but never mind, it might look better.

Anyway, when it came out, it hadn't etched where the triton had been, I really wasn't expecting this, and now it's given me loads of ideas, it hasn't kept it's metalic look, it's shiny blue, but endless possiblities me thinks  ;D  ;D  ;D

Just started playing with Triton today, Kate, so great timing! Thanks for the tip.

There are a few like that - try some other DH (can't remember which ones, but others might?) But Cirrus CiM also doesn't etch (or only with great difficulty) - great for detail in skies ;)

Khaos doesn't etch either - I made this set yonks ago, the black etched and I was really pleased with the contrast.
