I can't really find a more appropriate spot for this thread, so I'll bung it here....
I thought that it would be really useful if anybody who is willing to help out newbies with kiln space for annealing could add their offer / details to this thread.... then any new bead makers will know instantly who to approach...
I shall make this a sticky, so that any kind offers of help do not get lost in time..... I remember how valuable the help of Su and Mike at Tillerman beads was to me when I was starting out...
So.. if anyone doesn't mind helping out the odd new beadmaker with a bit of kiln space.. then just add your name to this thread...
Any arrangements to be made are between the two parties... and nothing to do with forum policy
One other important thing though... the person annealing the beads can in no way be held responsible for any breakeges whilst in the kiln.....
Thanks folks..
Les xx
===========================================================================================
Below is a list of people who have offered to anneal beads for other people. I have not added the location, as not everyone would want that information posted. However, I'm happy to add it if you'd like to give me permission. I'm guessing most people post their beads anyway, in which case location doesn't really matter. :)
If you're listed but no longer able to offer annealing, please let me know and I will remove you from the list. If you're not on the list and would like to be, just add your details to this thread and I will update the list.
As stated above, any arrangements made are between the two parties... and nothing to do with forum policy.
Also, the person annealing the beads can in no way be held responsible for any breakages whilst in the kiln.

I can offer kiln space. Just send me a message if you need help :)
Me too, here in Wrexham!

i have no kiln, although i'm not "new" when i am making beads again, in august, is it ok if i contact one of you, i obviously don't mind paying etc. :D
I have Kiln space to share !
Hi guys, I have kiln space too
I have kiln space too....if that helps anyone! :D
I have kiln space - you can send them to me too - pm or email me for details. You'll find most people are happy to put in other peoples beads in with their own if they batch anneal. I have a very large kiln so it's no trouble for me. BUT - in my case, take your beads off the mandrels, and I think it is good etiquette to put in sufficient money to cover the postage and packing back to your address.

Hi, anyone with kiln space in/near Edinburgh? :)
Sorry Karen - I managed to miss your post ::)
I'm across in Fife if that's any use to you?
Hi - I missed this post - I'm in Edinburgh!
My mum runs a shop here and I teach Silver CLay and in the near future there will be a kiln/studio in the shop for use - but in the meantime I'm happy to batch anneal them in my own for you. Drop me a pm

Hi,
I'm a newbie, first post!
Fantastic idea to offer kiln space, can I add my comments?
Is this specifically for bead annealing, or does it include kiln space for fusing too?
And, would locations, kiln size be useful to those of us who don't know the community yet.
I have recently finished a glass fusing and slumping course, and I am going to university in September, but I don't know whether I will have access to the kiln especially for small jewellery bits.
Even if I have, I don't think I can last all summer without access to a kiln! (I am looking at buying a small one, but funds say no just yet!)
So, I am based in midlands, Nottm/Derby, looking for kiln space!
Well, personally I'd be happy to offer space for fusing too - however, I've never done any so I wouldn't have a clue about schedules etc. ??? Also the person wanting to fuse would have to live nearby so they could arrange their pieces themselves. Annealling beads is easier as they can just be popped in an envelope and sent through the post! ;D
Good point, Beadysam, that for fusing, the "borrower" would have to arrange themselves (can't really post my jewellery peices, think they might come to bits in the process!), hence why I suggested kiln space on offer also include a location.
Anyone with Kiln space on offer Derbyshire/Nottinghamshire?
I just finished college (I was doing an Art Foundation, but also took an evening NOCN class in glassing fusing and slumping techniques) - and I am getting withdrawal symptoms cos I have no access to a kiln!
Hopefully I will get access again (if) I go to Uni in September (mature student, single parent, hard decision!), but I don't yet know their policy on use and abuse of said equipment!
If anyone's interested, I might soon be able to offer kiln space in Chorley...
Cheers,
Janie
Hi
I have kiln space and am in Corby Northants!
Trudi
Does anyone has any kiln space on offer?, I'm in West Yorkshire. It's for the bracelet swap. Can pay in choc goodies for the favour, and will incluse stamped SAE (of course) Thanks in advance.
I have...I`m in North Yorks...just pm me

Thank you Clare...pm'd you.
Also thank you Jessie and Jo. ;D
Hi
I'm in Canvey Island, Essex and have kiln space on offer too. I have a large ceramic kiln with a digital controller that can soak but not deal with complex schedules. I've fused, slumped and batch annealed beads successfully in it for years.
ooooooo i forgot about this thread!
I am in North Devon and I have my own kiln now and batch anneal my beads so if anyone wants to bung theirs in with mine PM me.
I run the batch annealing schedule for the SC2 and effetre, moretti and the other 104 COE stuff!
KJ
Hi
I have kiln space I am based in Romford, but you can post them off, the mandrel from anywhere.
Dianne
Me too, based in Sheffield - lovely people annealed mine for me before I got my own, so don't be shy to ask!
Where are you? We have kiln space in Glasgow you can use, happily. Drop me an email or give us a phone...
Cheers,
Sean
Hi,
I am based in Westward Ho! North Devon, and can offer kiln space. I am new to beadmaking, but I have fused glass for several years and know my kiln pretty well :D I own a SC2, and have tried all sorts of different schedules to achieve the effect I want. The coe104 annealing schedule is well documented, and (so far) none of my newbie beadies have cracked ;D.
I'm gearing up for the festival season up here which means I'll be doing firings of my kiln at least twice a week so if anyone wants any beads or cabs doing then PM me. I'll be doing anneal temperature up to fusing temperatures in case anyone wants anything different made.
I'm in Edinburgh but don't mind posting small amounts of returns.
Toastie xXx
If any of you haven't found kiln space yet I'm more than happy to help out, it was a god send for me until I could afford one (well I didn't actually my mum did).
I'm in Doncaster, no payment needed just postage, just PM me.
Kate x
Well having done a couple of batch annealing sessions now, I'm happy to announce that I am more than willing to batch anneal for anyone who would like anything batch annealed. Everyone has been so wonderfully lovely and helpful to me this past year and I'd like to repay some of that kindness by offering my services to those who don't yet have a kiln of their own. No payment needed just send the return postage. ;D OOOh that felt good.
We do kiln hire in Carlisle too, if anyone needs it.
We have an SC2, a MAXI and a Hobbyfuser.
I can offer space in my kiln, if anyone wants it.
Laney
My fault, should have PMed you :D
*scuttles to googlemail*
I've been getting out to my HotHead torch a few times a week since my visit to JazzyLily and I think a few of the beads are good enough to considering handing over to my Jewellery making partner - nothing special but kind of ok! I've also tried making some beads for JazzyLily's Red Nose Day campaign - but if I'm gonna sell them they 've got to be strong so will need annealing, of course.
So would anybody be willing to batch anneal some beads for me?
How many can be done at one time (I realise that depends upon the size of the kiln and the size of the beads - but for your kiln and some 10-15mm round beads in 104COE glass)? I've not got loads - I'm really wondering whether to wait until I've made a few more to make it worthwhile.
I live in Hemel Hempstead so if anyone is close by that would be great and I could drop them round. If not then I'll stick 'em in a Jiffy Bag.
I'll include return postage, of course, and be happy to pay for the elastictrickery used and "wear and tear" on the kiln.
Thanks in advance.
Hi, I'm down in Devon but if you want to post to me I will anneal for you. I generally pop mine on a rack and can anneal hundreds easily they can also be piled up on kiln floor in which case even more could be done, so any amount is no problem.
I would do them with my own beads so no additional expense to me.
PM me for my address if your intrested.
i am the other end of the A414 nr Harlow,

I now have a kiln which i use for batch annealing so anyone is welcome to post me their beads or if in south west london feel free to drop by.
would it be possible to have a list of who and where so i (lazy mare !!) dont have to go through whole thread for someone near me who has offered kiln space for batch annealing ??....
Good idea, I'll sort one out and append (nice word) it to the front of this thread. http://www.frit-happens.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=1939.0 (http://www.frit-happens.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=1939.0) ;)
thank you mrs mod :-*
I can batch anneal for peeps. Colette from Spalding ;D
Hi all **waves**
Well, Sam at Black Heart beads was kind enough to batch anneal for me when I first started ( Thanks again Sam!) So now it's time for me to pass on the favour. I'm in Devon, and I use a lot of silver glass so I've managed to sort myself a great schedule to keep the shine ;D
I only use 104, so would only feel comfortable annealing 104 at the mo.
Add me to the list of available space !!!!
I now feel confident enough in my use of my kiln to add my name to the list, I am in Northamptonshire and the kiln is called 'Hot Box' ;D
I can go on the list - my kiln is at your service!
Is there anyone around the Lincoln/Newark area that has some kiln space on offer, My husband put me in a catch 22 saying I can have a kiln if I can sell my beads. (silly man)
I would like to not have to post the beads and if possible see how the whole ramping up/down whatever process works so I know what I am doing when the time comes. But if posting is the only way then I will.
If someone could PM me if they can and let me know what the 'rent' is. Little easier than me going through everyone on the list to see if anyone os close to me.
Scarlet xx
Hi, you can put me on the list if you want, loads of people on here have helped me out with stuff - so I would like to pass on the favour. I am in Notts :)
Hi there
I'm a newbie intending to buy my torch and supplies in the next week or so.
I'd love to buy some kiln time off someone when the time comes but I doubt it will be for a while. Can anyone give me a guide to the likely cost (approx) as I always imagined kiln time to be really expensive.
Cheers
Jinxie
It is very expensive usually - at least a large block of Galaxy or even some Swiss chocolate!
Kazx
Lol jinxie, my price is always choccy too! Pm me if you want me to anneal for you. Always good to have a few people on the go ;)
OMG!
Not a WHOLE bar of Galaxy surely???? That is really expensive ;)
Just kidding! But if that's the going rate then I'm going to make a point of offering kiln time as well - eventually.
I suppose it might help if I make a few beads first ....speaking of which, I should place my order for a kit I suppose. Prevarication is the order of the day for me at the moment - having too much fun just reading about it.
Jinxie ::)
Please add me to the list, in Scarborough North Yorks

Hello Les
My daughter and I have just started bead making with a hot head torch and propane and becoming addicted. Didn't know which way to go with limited money - oxy con and nortel minor burner or buy a kiln. I hope with your kind offer we can now have both wishes for awhile.
Can you tell me how this would work and the costs please. Any advice would be grateful as well.
Also new to this forum/chat arrangements so please bear with me if I seem a little slow in answering.
Bye for now
Brenda
Hello
I would really like to have a go at selling my beads but can only do this if I can find someone to anneal them for me.
I'd ideally like to pay each time so that I feel like the person doing the annealing is benefitting too. I know that you can never have too much glass so thought an agreed amount each time into a PayPal account would make the person glad they were helping me and me glad because it would mean I could sell my beads at last.
I was thinking of at least £5 each time (as a guess) plus me paying for the postage both ways. I don't get to make many beads so I'd probably be talking about around 50 maximum a month.
If anyone is interested please let me know. I don't know if this is a cheeky post because I know most people that sell have their own kiln. I've kept hoping I'd have money to get one but haven't managed it and would really like to move to trying to make this brilliant hobby generate me some much needed cash.
Thank you kindly
Sally
Hi sally
I'd be happy to anneal for you, just cover the postage would be fine, they can go in with my beads so there is no extra cost to me.
I'm in Edinburgh don't know where you are but you may find someone closer if you prefer. If you want me to do some just PM me and I will let you have my address.
Nikki
There's a list on page 1 (my name seems to have vanished :D )
I'd be happy to chuck some in with my stuff. I'm not making tons at the moment so don't do a batch often, but it costs less than 50p for a cycle so no payment needed. ;)
Thank you very much for the offers. I really appreciate it.
Shahlaa has offered to do it for me thank you.
Thank you again for all of your generosity.

Hi there,
I'm trying to find someone who could anneal my beads for me (for copious amounts of chocolate of course!) but wasn't sure how up to date the list on page 1 is.
Is it preferable to use someone close to me? (I'm in York BTW) surely postage is postage anywhere in the UK?
What is the etiquette for kiln space? is it a case of wrapping beads in bubble wrap and posting in a jiffy with stamps to cover the cost of their return?
Vicki
Hi Vicki, yup, postage is postage - doesn't really matter. I've annealed beads from Essex, Scotland, Devon, Barnsley, Sheffield....and York, and I'm sure I've forgotten some. Happy to do yours if you include return postage :)
Is there anyone near Clevedon/Bristol with kiln space to spare, else, not knowing how often you batch anneal, anyone likely to be firing up the kiln in the next week or so? I've some total newbie beads I'd like annealed so I can feel I might just be getting somewhere and can make something from them.
Thanks, Sue.
Hi Sue,
Like everyone else, I'd be happy to do them for you if you include return postage - I'm about an hour from Bristol, so the post gets there pretty quickly :)
PM me if you like?
PM'd you. Thanks for the offer. Not sure my first attempts are up to 'show and tell' but would like to try to use them in something.
Hi Everyone,
Unfortunately I don't have a kiln yet to anneal my beads and would love it if someone is willing to anneal them for me until I'm in a position to buy my own. Ideally I'm looking to get them annealed roughly twice a month. I live in Basingstoke so if you were near to there then I'd be happy to drop them off and pick up when ready or obviously if further afield to post them to you. I'm happy to pay for this of course. Please let me know if any of you have the kiln space/time to do this.
Many thanks,
Fiona
Hi everyone,
Just to add my name to the list, I have kiln space if anyone wants beads batch annealed. I'm based in the midlands (split between two locations), but obviously there's always the post :D
Hi Everyone
I am a newbie and would like to offer kiln space, I live in West Yorkshire.
Jo x
I too am more than happy to offer to batch anneal for anyone that needs it....I'm Blackpool, Lancashire. ;D
Passing on the favour. I'm happy to batch anneal beads for anyone who would like. I'm in North Somerset.
I'd be happy to batch anneal for anyone as well - I'm down in Kent.
I suppose it's time to add myself to this list.
I batch once a week at the moment and there's still usually enough space for a few more bead sets.
Happy to help down in North Devon :)
I'm looking for a lovely person who is willing to anneal my beads.
Willing to pay in chocolate and of course pay for postage both ways. Umm, I have no idea who to pick from this lovely but long list. I'm in Bristol if that's important. It's quite a large batch of beads as I've been saving them up for a month or two now.
I'm more than happy to anneal for you. Although I believe our Sue is nearer to Bristol, Blue Box that is :)
I've sent you a PM. Thank you tons.
Now Kevin the kiln is recovered from the injuries he sustained in transport, I'm happy to batch anneal for anyone.
I'm bath annealing all my beads so the kiln goes on every Wednesday.
I'm in the Isle of Wight - but the post to here is as quick as mainland uk.
Joy x
Hi,
I started torching about 18 months ago but for some reason stopped for an age, have just started again and would like to get some of my beads annealed and I would love anyone that could help me out (obviously would pay all costs).
I have a couple of questions, how many at a time would be good to send - I wouldn't want to not send enough/too many.
Also, how long had you been lampworking for before investing in a kiln? I really really really want one but I want to make sure that its something I am going to continue with before I do so. Also are they safe to keep in the house?
Many thanks in advance
Sam
Hi Sam, they are safe to keep in the house :) Some people prefer to only have them on when they're actually in. As for how many, it's up to how impatient you are - when they get batch annealed, they can just be piled on the floor of the kiln, so you could do hundreds and hundreds :)
Thanks Sparrow :) I want to start making things with them rather than just having them sit in a pot!
Hi
I'm down in sunny Cornwall and am happy to add my kiln services to the list, not far from St.Ives.
Jeannie x
You guys and gals are just fab! One of the things I fear most is the cost of a kiln and it'll take me an age to save for one...it great to know there's great people like you out there willing to do this for others...hopefully one day I'll be able to offer the same for newbies like myself! :)
This is brilliant, just a thought would it be possible to put locations next to the people who offer so you can see at a glance if there is anyone near? Just a thought x
Can you add me Please Les - I am based in the South East - Kent (in Ramsgate currently but will soon be in my new studio in Birchington - Quex Park Craft Village). Thanks ;D

I just received a new Kiln today. It took a week to get here so I have about a dozen items to go in tonight.
It's a Paragon Bluebird (love anything blue). If anyone needs kiln space/time let me know. Also any suggestions on programs for hard and soft glass are welcome.
Thanks for changing your profile pic, Raimond.
It was getting pretty confusing. I kept thinking you were Mz George! D'oh!

Hi all,
What a lovely bunch of people your are offering annealing services. Just wondered who is near Kibworth - Leics that would batch anneal for me. Am happy to pay postage.
Also what is the etiquette if there is any, how many beads is it ok to send? I don't have loads but just asking what is an ok amount as thought I am better saving till I have enough but don't want to send too many if that makes sense
Thanks
Niki x
I am in Bridgend south Wales and will happily batch anneal just cover the cost of the postage
I can do them for you - pm'ing you now :)
Hello, this is my very first post here all though I have been picking up tips and things for a few days. What an amazing site, full of so much infor and some really talented people. Sorry my first post is an 'ask'. :-[
I am a complete novice and at the moment just practicing and getting to know my torch. I would really love a kiln, but have to save up, we are getting married later this year and I really have to wait until those costs are covered until I can buy my own kiln. ;)
I would really like to get my practice beads annealed so that I can keep them.
I am in North Devon but happy to post them, if anyone can offer batch annealing please pm me with details, including cost and terms.
Thank you in advance.

Whats the "sales and wants" page on FB?
Hi Nikki
It is a facebook page local to my area for general sales and wants. Not specific to lampwork or anything. I just put a shout out on there on the off chance :) for kiln space before finding this place.
Thanks
I thought there might be a frit-happens page!! ;D
There is a page on Facebook for the Frit Happens Forum Etsy street team, it's here: http://www.facebook.com/FHFteam?fref=ts, but no general frit happens page.
I can offer kiln space for bead annealing & bisque/glaze firing for ceramics.
Hi Les.
Can I add my name to kiln space on offer? I am in Bristol/Backwell and have a Paragon SC2 and happy to batch anneal.
Thanks!
Hi, I'm new to both posting on a forum and to lampwork (did a course and loved it!). I don't have a kiln - are any of the people on the list close to me? I live in north east Hampshire.
Posting works ... :D
I'm in Pembrokeshire and happy to batch anneal beads in my SC2 if postage is paid.
