The theme of the month challenge is jointly sponsored by Tuffnells Glass (thank you Martin et al!) and Frit Happens!
Each month the lucky winner, chosen by a random number selector, will receive a £20 gift voucher to spend on-line with Tuffnells. The draw will take place at the start of **June** so make sure you get your entries in before midnight on the last day of May to be in with a chance to win the goodies!
Please note that the entries should be new work.
So, the theme for the month for May 2012 is Things you find in the Garden.
ooh I like this theme :)
I have plenty of cat poo lurking in my garden, and thats what my creation might end up looking like ;D
A bit uninventive but here are some floral beads that I silver cored on Friday!

These were fun to make, but I need (desperately) to work on the eye stalks! I just noticed that the middle one has lost one of his eyes, sorry. I think the righthand one with Carribean Sea is the most successful, but I'm learning :)

Cute cute snails (the glass ones I mean not the real ones!) ;D

Thank you! I hate the real things - if they get into my greenhouse they eat my orchids, and it's always the really nice one that's just coming into flower! >:(
Nick
They are a nuisance, but I have a fondness for them - we used to race them when we were kids! (I do mean against other snails of course! ;D)
;D ;D ;D
So did we!
Nick
I was planning to do something else but am out of time, so here's the rose I made this month. I might have another little flowery bead if I get the photo edited soon enough.

Love that daffodil bead at the bottom Jo, very skilful. And Les, I hope you make a fabulous sheep bead!
I found cat sick in my garden today, but I think I'll resist the urge to make a bead themed from it.
look forward to the sheep bead,

Aww ... they are lovely, Sandy :)
Lovely beads everyone!
Apart from not really having the skills to make more than a very simple flower bead to enter this month, we don't have much in the garden for inspiration, unless I figure out how to make some pebble beads...
Not sure if cat poo, dead weeds, recycling boxes and bins, a motorcycle and the neighbour's rubbish would work on a bead! :-\

these are still prototypes, I need to work on the colours a bit, and some other things that arent quite there yet, tricky little things!
and I haven't managed to get the proper, 'gormless' look that they have! (something to do with the eyes perhaps?)
Stunning Madeline x
Let's give it try! Never put anything on this forum yet, hope you like my work.

This is an interchangeable popperpendant. The popper I made has a little violet inside.
I really enjoyed looking at the beads of all the other lampworkers.

Gaynor, have a go with round nosed pliers, http://www.kernowcraft.com/products/silversmithing-and-tools/pliers-wire-cutters/jewellers-pliers-C160/ but any cheap pair will do. They are good for the fins of fish too or angel wings.
