The theme of the month challenge is jointly sponsored by Tuffnels (thank you Martin!) and Frit Happens!
Each month the lucky winner, chosen by a random number selector, will receive a £20 gift voucher to spend on-line with Tuffnels. The draw will take place on at the end of the month so make sure you get your entries (beads and jewellery) in to be in with a chance to win the goodies!
So, the theme of the month for AUGUST 2011 is ROCKPOOL TREASURES !!!
Feel free to interpret the theme in whichever way you choose!
Good luck!
Kazx

Oooh, I'm rockpooling all over the place ;D ;D
Here's one from yesterday - its just about the worst bead ever to photograph, but I'm incredibly pleased with it as it was a technical challenge to make one side of a round clear and one side opaque AND shape into a good round!

Tide Pool. A core of marbled grey glass wrapped round in oceans of turquoise and clear transparent glass.
Not quite as big as that fabulous lentil, it is only 32 mm tall.
I've been making lots of big cabs in the Rockpool theme, this one is a bit more colourful than most and is my favourite so far

Love the top one ;D
Oh dear I'm almost too embarrassed to put this on, everything is so gorgeous, but I'm well chuffed as it's the first time I've used murrini, which the lovely honeybun Sue Awrylemming generously sent to me :-*
So I'll cringe and bear it for her sake.
My attempt at a Rockpool

There are some beauties here! Here's my Bucket & Spade set;
(http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6085/6066151424_a4f6dd4153.jpg)
I've been playing a bit with freeze & fuse. My first starfish and seahorses turned out too thick for jewelry, so I decided to try and make a tealight holder instead.
(http://rangifer.se/exp_img/rockpool_s.jpg)
Well my entry is a whole combination of firsts for me. My first seaside bead, first successful application of murrini, first use of my own murrini, and first window bead. I was trying to create the illusion of looking into a rock pool, but it hasn't worked that great. I was obviously working too low in the flame for one part, because the transparent section has got a dirty sheen to it. I do like the murrini though (thought I better say something positive about it :P).
