Title: CZ's
Post by: misspixie on June 16, 2009, 12:53:41 PM
Just a quickie...  ;D

Are the CZ's for glass work different to "normal" CZ's? I've just been given a nice big bag of little ones by a friend - she thought I'd be able to use them for uni, but I don't tend to do much set work... My first thought was glass, but I wanted to check they were all the same thing! You'd think someone studying jewellery would know, but...  ::)

Not as far as I am aware I am pretty sure they are the same thing.

They are the same thing. Use the little ones only (maybe under 3 mm) so your beads stay uncracked!

You have to check that they are able to withstand heat - you can find that out from the manufacturer - if you don't know, just test a couple in some tester beads and see how you get on.  Definately don't use more than 3mm though, as Maikki said.
