How to work Effetre Red Roof Tile

Should have asked when I bought it I guess, but didn't.

How should I work this on HH to get a nice rich colour - first attempts just reveal dull browny beige.

The stuff I have can strike darker if you work it for a while - heat, cool, in, out, etc. I have a photo somewhere from a while back:



Just with SIS. I think the spacer on the left was giving me difficulties so I took a long time shaping it.
