Garaging is the process of holding the [[kiln]] at a high enough temperature for the [[glass]] piece to not crack, but so so high as to cause it to deform or [[slump]].

The idea is that while working, the [[kiln]] is kept at the garaging temperature and the [[beads]] added to the [[kiln]].

When the kiln is full (or you have had enough for the day) then you can switch the [[controller]] to [[anneal]] and the temperature in the [[kiln]] will now rise to the annealing temperature.
