Hi all

I'm finally getting round to doing some silver cores.  I'm using the 3.8mm internal diameter Cooksons tube atm.  As I don't have one of these bracelets I'm not sure whether this size tubing fits.  I'm pretty sure it won't fit the Pandora ones but I think the Trolls are smaller?  Anyone have a Troll bracelet or know what size the core needs to be?  Thanks :)

Yes, it should fit a Troll bracelet - I bought one and tested this out with the Cooksons 5mm OD and 3.8mm ID tubing!  It will not fit Pandora or Lovelinks though.

Right, now that I am home I have measured the Lovelinks, Pandora and Troll bracelets that I have, and taken a scan of them and their corresponding proprietary beads (in that order); my own bead (cored with the Cooksons silver tube with ID of 3.8mm is below):

I have also measured the size of the bracelets with my guage:
Lovelinks measures 4.82mm in diameter if you take the fluted end section into account.
Pandora is 4.25mm in diameter if you take the screw-thread end section into account.
Troll measures 3.3mm across the diagonal of the foxtail chain.
This means that all of the above beads will fit the Troll system, the Lovelinks bead will fit the Pandora, but only the Lovelinks bead will fit the Lovelinks bracelet.

I hope that this info helps!  I haven't yet tried using the Rashbels silver tubing.

Thank you so much - that is fabulous info - just what I was looking for.  So to make beads compatible with all the chains it looks like a 5mm core is needed.  I haven't tried with the Rashbel tubing as yet - they were out of stock of the 4mm ID last time I looked.

Thanks again - Rachel x

Yes, you will need an inside diameter of 5mm to fit all of the systems. I bought some solid 6mm mandrels, but they do get HOT...and quickly too!   My hollow mandrel is heavy to use so maybe I should knock up a wooden mandrel holder.

Thank you Sarah!  Not quite sure how to go about doing that... ???

My 5mm mandrels get hot too.  But couldn't you just double-dip 5mm mandrels to get a 6mm?  I'm after a 5mm internal diameter rivet anyone know where I can get one?

Even after all this time, the sun never says to the earth "you owe me".

Log into the Wiki (www.frit-happens.co.uk/wiki/) using your forum user name and password.
Then have a look at the help and instruction pages... then just create your page.. You don't need t worry about the formatting someone (me) will come along later and sort things out for you.

Either that. or someone could do it for you, but it's much better that many people have experience of editing the wiki.... it's not hard.
