In this master class, Beth Lipman will lead an exploration of meaningful objects, using glassmaking as a primary method to expose, question and express current and past beliefs. Through blowing, solid sculpting, kiln forming, and cold working, students will take a sculptural approach to making new objects in glass

About Beth Lipman

Beth is an internationally acclaimed artist whose awards include the USA Berman Bloch Fellowship, the Pollock Krasner Grant, and a Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation Grant. Most recently, she completed Secretary with Chipmunk, a multipurpose sculpture for the Chipstone Foundation in Milwaukee, USA.  Her exhibition record includes the Ringling Museum of Art, the Institute of Contemporary Art at Maine College of Art, Rhode Island School of Design Museum, and Gustavsbergs Konsthall in Sweden. Her work is in the permanent collections of Brooklyn Museum of Art, Kemper Museum for Contemporary Art, Smithsonian American Art Museum, Jewish Museum, Norton Museum of Art, and the Corning Museum of Glass.
