Don't shoot me down in flames for this one folks.. its a genuine question cos I'm curious...

It seems that every team treasury I've looked at recently has only been commented  by people featured in the treasury or other members of the FHFteam....

I just wondered what hard evidence we have that treasuries actually result in increased traffic to our stores... or are we at risk of simply promoting our work to each other?

A very good question, I think the important thing is that we promote the treasury on Facebook / Twitter etc to try to get more people to look. Not sure how we could best test effectiveness ?

One of the things about putting together an all FHFteam treasury is that it is in essence promoting ourselves to each other which is not ideal really (though it does look super pretty) and I've posted before that mixing listings from all of your teams and mixing it up with other Etsy listings to cross promote is a really good thing to do. Especially since etsy introduced the circle thing as people you feature are more likely to know about it.

I think that treasuries in general are likely to be a lot less powerful for FHFteam in terms of driving traffic to team members shops than other simple and quick kinds of activities that team members could possibly do for one another (for instance RTing a listing tweet or adding a listing to favorites so that members of your etsy circle may see it). Since Etsy brought in their stats it is easy to see how many views come in because of treasury features in the section top right.

One thing about treasuries is that it is a lovely feeling to be featured and so good for team morale which is why I make sure that I always make an all FHFteam treasury each month. I've never thought to analyse my stats before but just looking at the past month, for me it actually has made a significant impact on my stats, but then I am a member of other active etsy teams as well as FHFteam.

Plus all promo is a good thing and the one or two views that you may get in extra on a day due to a treasury feature may just be the views that lead to sales because none of this is an exact science.

I enjoy doing them, when I have time and certainly enjoy looking at them.  Don't think it's increased my traffic though.

We're currently finding that most of our Etsy shop traffic is coming via FaceBook. Don't forget to add any treasuries you do to the FHFTeam Page https://www.facebook.com/FHFteam. If you do this when logged in as Your FB page you also get added exposure for your own page. We have over 2000 likes on this page now so it's worth playing with.

Any exposure is good.

If you open the link https://www.facebook.com/FHFteam you can then paste the treasury URL into the post box, wait a few seconds for the image to appear, you can then select which thumbnail you want as your picture. Click post.
If your want to tidy up the post further, prior to clicking post, remove the URL from the post box and replace with your own comment, then click post.

FB puts all these posts in the posts by others page as your not admin. I've been resharing to the highlights page (I aim for once a day) to keep the page looking fresh and pretty.

Any problems let me know

All members of the FHFTeam on Etsy can put anything on the FB page. The more varied the better, plug those listings, push those events, advertise your hearts out  Grin
