Hi to our mods, and thanks for all your hard work.

As a new convert to the iPhone, my retail therapy has extended from glass to apps.  I see that there are a number of forum related apps that make it possible to read forums more easily than by using the web browser (and I'm guessing that similar things exist for Android and windows smartphones).  These require code to be placed within the forum somehow.

Do we have anything in place that would point me in the direction of a particular app so I can get my FH fix on the move more easily, or is it worth investigating?

Thanks for your advice,

Della

The one I use at present is called Forums Lite - free and although you get annoying adds it is easier to read on than the web browser.

Interesting - I hadn't come across these - although I have to say, I hate my phone when it switches to the iphone Facebook.

Hubby develops games for the iphone.....I keep trying to convince him that a bead making app would sell  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

I have an HTC phone (android) and just log onto FH anywhere, takes a bit of a while to load and downloading piccies might use up quite a bit of my allowance, but it certainly works.   New thing now, make sure your website can be read on phones, I have had a few cases recently of trying to find shops when I have been out and about but can't open thier website on the phone!

Do these apps make reading the forums easier then?

I also happily read on my HTC. There are a couple of boards I read that have switched to a dedicated android format and I hate it. Same goes for Flickr - much prefer the non-M version.

Yes, apparently.  There is one called Tapatalk that specifically mentions simple machines forums, but the forum owner has to activate Tapatalk support before it will work.  The app costs the princely sum of £1.79, but reviews look really good, and people seem to think you don't know you need it until you have it, and see how easy it is.
