GBUK AGM & Bead Fair

Saturday 25th September 2010 - Loyd Lindsay Rooms, Ardington, Oxfordshire

Thank you for the fantastic response we have received so far for the GBUK AGM & Bead Fair, and we are delighted to announce that Tuffnell Glass will be there!

A BIG THANK YOU to Kate Sullivan who has done an amazing job arranging the advertising! We will have adverts in Bead, Beads & Beyond and Making Jewellery Magazines.

Over half of the tables have now been taken, but there are a few still available, so please let me know ASAP if you would like to reserve one.

The tables are FREE and available to GBUK members only. We are asking members to send a deposit cheque of £50.00 which will be returned upon attendance. This is to ensure that people turn up and will not be cashed unless you fail to attend.

The venue is  situated in a beautiful Oxfordshire village, in a central position between Oxford, Newbury, Reading and Swindon with convenient access from the M4, A34 and A417. There is onsite parking and main line rail access at Didcot Parkway just 8 miles away.

Please note that bead fair tables won't be allocated until the booking forms and deposits are received.

Like last year, the AGM will be held in the morning, with the fair in the afternoon. If you have a topic that you would like to be on the agenda, then please contact me before July 20th 2010 with all of the details.

News & Exhibitions

Message from Ema Kelly:

"I've been awarded the Creative Leicestershire Development Bursary! This fantastic opportunity is going to enable me to purchase some new energy efficient equipment and exhibit in some high profile shows.

Along with some of the other associate members of Design Factory, I will be showing my work as part of the 'Fresh' exhibition at the Beetroot Tree Gallery, Derbyshire. With the private view and opening of the exhibition on the 31st July, it will be running right through until the 12th September. So there's plenty of time to get yourself over there to see what's on show. www.thebeetroottree.com

Another exhibition featuring the members of Design Factory is being held at the Catmose Gallery, Oakham. 'Fusion' is running 24th July until 28th August.www.catmosecollege.com/?gallery=home&left=gallery

Duck in a Bucket Designs has now gone international with stockists! The new addition to the stockists is the Eisch Gallery in Germany. www.eisch.de/eng

I'll also be selling my work at the bead fair and celebrate glass - both part of the international festival of glass running 28th-30th august. http://www.ifg.org.uk/

I'm going to be on BBC Radio Leicester on Mon 12th July at 2.10pm to do an on air interview about demonsrating at Art in Action and my work.
The link to listen online is... http://www.bbc.co.uk/leicester/programmes

Many thanks,
