Sorry Sal, I didn't meant to mis-represent your intention - I threw in the constructive criticism comment in the original post simply as a different aspect of debate, and not to suggest that people's work be criticized, but the issues themselves, if you get my meaning.

ETA: I'm really sorry that I've stirred the waters somewhat - I just thought the idea was an interesting one, but I certainly don't want anyone's feelings stepped on Smiley

I know it wasn't what this thread was about but as its drifted a bit I'm not sure a constructive criticism sub-forum would be worth the space.  Not many people post pics of their stuff unless they are happy for people to see it, and as Sal said they can always invite criticism if desired.  There is a Consdtructive Criticism forum over on LE which as we all know is a very big and busy forum.  Considering there have only been 156 threads since 2006 over there, I can't see the point of such a forum here where generally we are all very polite and careful not to offend anyway.

It would be nice to have somewhere where we can let loose a bit, without offending - all the while remembering that what you write is there for as long as the internet is....

No problem!  Smiley

It's good to discuss this - even if it isn't always pink and fluffy!

In all honesty, none of the mods were willing to take care of a board like this but a rather good suggestion was brought up. The idea was put forward to make those same old contentious chestnuts sticky topics within a board, that way, the debate could continue indefinitely. New members with questions about such issues could read back over the topic, perhaps add their ideas and it would be a running thing.

No flushing, no one HAS to take part but all issues would be covered. How does that sound to people

Do you think if we stickied it Sal it would stop the same arguements over and over again and perhaps encourage new views? These are obviously issues that are going to affect all newbies at some point so it would be good if they and indeed we all had a topic that could be read and re read to gain clarity.

yes, I think stickies are a good way to go and then if a Newb has a question about it they can be directed to the link. Also it would allow people like me to dig up each topic from time to time and give it a good worrying - like a dog with a bone...!  Grin

I think this is a great idea!   A "no delete" policy on posts just because it might offend someone I'm all for!
