Ahhh...the million dollar question!
Kate has done a fantastic job producing the entry form (it should be attached to the email I sent out earlier this evening to all members)
It lists the categories:Beginner
May have taken an introduction to beadmaking course, or may
never have made a bead before, usually up to 1 years experience.Intermediate
May have taken classes in beadmaking, or may be self-taught, usually
1 to 4 years experience of making beads on a regular basis. Able to
make well balanced beads in varying shapes using gravity and a
marver. Able to encase with few or no air bubbles and repeat bead
designs. Able to put dots and designs on a bead with control over
placement and consistency of size.Advanced
Long term experience with glass, skills may be the same as
intermediate but more developed and refined with precise control of
hot glass. You may have begun to develop a distinct personal style in
your beadmaking, usually more than 3 years experience.
These are guidelines only, there is no definitive categorisation for
I hope this helps!
