Just finished my beads.  *doing a very happy dance* had to phone my friend to tell her I was so pleased  Cheesy
Two of them need to cool down so they probably go in the kiln, early tomorrow fingers crossed they survive.   Should be able to post out tomorrow night.

What do I do about sending them, ie, just string them onto something suitable and away they go otherwise they would be loose in the packet  Undecided

All the submissions so far are strung on something or supplied with a display. But we do have displays complete with mandrels to display focals or even sets if you are happy to leave it to us we will sort something out. I've emailed Charlotte the demsions of all the beads to ensure we can accomodate them  Smiley We want your beads to look beautiful too so don't worry  Smiley

Yay for managing to make something  Smiley

Thanks Kate  I will let you arrange them  Wink  Think I will send them next day delivery, as the one time you want something to get there 1st class it usually goes on a country wide tour first  Cheesy

ooooo it's all getting a bit tense.... I've received my confirmation email and I'd like to thank everyone in GBUK for arranging the comp/exhibition, It pushed me into making beads again and I'm over the moon that they'll be going around the country.

Gutted I can't make it to the Flame Off and will miss seeing all the entries, will GBUK be putting the entries on the website afterwards? all the talk and no piccies (although I know the reason why) is killing me... what... nosey...me!!!!  Grin Grin Grin

QUESTION!!!!!! EEEk, do you need to be able to touch the beads for judging?  Cos I kinda went a bit made with a display idea and they are sealed in now!  You can still see them alright through the glass...  Undecided

I would say don't worry about it, could you send a little hammer though in case we need to break the glass, only kidding. If that's how you intend it, then it is what it is.

Sounds very interesting, I'm intrigued  Cool

Batteries - are they for the bead or camera?   Grin

I am itching to see all of the entries in the flesh!

Er, mine will be the odd one out, I just chucked the bead in........I can bring a little stand or something to the Flame Off  Embarrassed (*blushes at inability to follow instructions*)

The display cases have 2.6mm mandrels in to display beads, with little rubber washers to hold the beads on the mandrels. The units are designed to hold the beads vertically or horizontally. I can bring in thinner mandrels, museum gel, threads - whatever I can think of to display the beads to their best advantage. So, you don't need to send or bring a stand if you don't want to. I haven't got lights in the cases, but I will be bringing some spots to direct light. Integral lighting is something that I am thinking of sorting out but I really need to see the cases with beads insitu to work out the best way of doing it!

Charlotte and Kate mine have gone off today to you! -Karin

Woohoo!!!!

Thank you to everyone who has entered. I bet that they will look fantastic all together!
