Yes, part of my job is to give advice on social software. But I just *DON'T GET* 'pages' on FB. You know, the ones you can set up & become a fan. I got as far as signing up, by fluke, but then it looked all weird, and now I can't find it again, I don't think I ever set it live. Can you have more than one? I'd quite like one for Little Castle Designs & one for Now Forevermore, but at the moment, I just can't get my head around it...is it exactly the same as a people page, but you have fans instead of friends?......heeeeeeeelp?

Yes. No, seriously, it's like a page dedicated to your work, so you can post pics and links and send updates to your fans, rather than just putting it on your normal page.

Looks good to me! I don't 'get' Facebook pages really - but I suppose I can see that if you wanted to keep your main profile for personal stuff, a page for business stuff would be useful. Am still not sure of the crossover between just keeping a good website updated and keeping a FB page updated, but then again, maybe FB means you can interact quicker with fans and so on because it has all these mobile phone apps... Will try and log in later and become a fan.

I have 'fan'ed you.
I think it's a really good way to promote your business to those people out side and on the fringes of the glass community.

Thank you so much, both The main reason I started to think I'd do it because I met a wedding planner the other day, and she's told the world about me. This is absolutely fantastic, don't get me wrong, but I get friend requests from people I've never heard of, and I do use FB for work-work too, so I'm trying to shield educational developers world-wide from reading all about tiaras (and shielding the bead making world from news about inquiry-based learning conferences!)

I know what you mean. not long after I put that I was going to the Flame Off I got a friends request from 'Jock's Webshop' I have no idea who this is.
My little sister - who is stunningly pretty gets (like) 'random' requests from 'loosers' all the time. (I have paraphrased here she is as I said 20 and stunningly pretty)

Phew - not some random weirdo then. I shall confirm the request.
(I do tend to attract very weird people. Unfortunately this is a confirmed fact and not paranoia)
